CAVALIADA Sopot 2025 - spectacular sporting emotions in the ERGO Arena
The Sopot edition of the CAVALIADA has come to an end. A total of 26 classes in show jumping, dressage, driving and Eventing were held over the four days of competition. A total of 175 athletes from 12 countries with 252 horses took part.
The show jumpers competed in classes at the CSI2* rank and could fight for points for the world in two competitions. The most important - the PKO Bank Polski Grand Prix, for the prize of PKO Bank Polski and under the patronage of the Mayor of Sopot - was won by a representative of Greece, Angelos Touloupis riding Lord Mexx.
‘The course designer did a great job, the time was measured to the point and the poles falling along the whole course.’ - said the winner - ‘Lord Mexx is my best friend, he is like a family member to us. He wanted to win today. I'm very proud of him, he gave it his all. CAVALIADA is my favourite competition - we love this audience and the organizers. I'm taking the same horses with me to Krakow and I hope it will go as well as it did here!’
The following positions on the podium belonged to young riders from Poland. Second place went to 17-year-old Patryk Skrzyczyński aboard 17-year-old Jerico, and third to 24-year-old Zuzanna Golicka riding For Flix.
Friday’s Longines Rankings class, for the prize of the National Support Centre for Agriculture, ended with a joint win when two riders tied for first place: Swede Douglas Lindelöw riding Charlie's Way and Germany’s Felix Hassmann with Caspian GD.
Mściwoj Kiecoń from Poland topped off the podium riding Cicero, therefore taking the lead in the CAVALIADA Tour ranking. Just behind him, with a loss of 2 points, is Dutchman Dennis van den Brink, while Lindelöw is third with 39.5 points.
CAVALIADA Eventing Tour
The spectacular CAVALIADA Eventing Tour classes were the highlights of the evening programme on Thursday and Friday. In both of these competitions, for the prize of Raitech, victory belonged to the Polish vice-champion and Baborówko Riding Association rider Paweł Warszawski on the reliable mare Fuerta.
‘As you can see, the rivals don't let up - everyone wants to be as fast as possible. (...) ‘In each stage I have to work hard to win. The first three places were all within one second. This shows how evenly matched the frontrunners are. (...) For sure the competition in Krakow will be gripping until the very end. Fuerta is a horse that has never competed in Eventing. She has proven to be very agile, brave and has a huge heart. At the stable we call her a ‘special task horse’’ - Warszawski said.
Thus, Warszawski already has 5 wins in this season of the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour and is the leader of the ranking before the Krakow final, with a full set of 48 points. Second place belongs to Polish champion Joanna Pawlak - 40 points, and third is the winner of the previous CAVALIADA Tour - Jakub Wiraszka, who has 37 points to his account.
Bawaria Motors Driving Tour
The popular driving competitions, for the Bawaria Motors prize, were held twice in Sopot. On Saturday, the winner was Aleksander Fularczyk, driver from the Kashubian Association for the Promotion of Horse Sports Kwieki, his groom Patryk Lejk and horses Nuta and Neptun. This is the fourth victory for this team in this CAVALIADA season.
‘It was tough in the first round, but once we got into the drive-off, I knew ‘we've got them!’ - Fularczyk said.
On Sunday, on the other hand, Rafał Paszyński's team proved to be the best, with groom Joanna Paszyńska and horses Ikar and Cinnamon.
‘We tried our best - the training gives results and I think it will get better and better. We will fight until the end,’ said Rafal Paszyński.
‘We used to divide our weekends together between jumping and driving - we chose driving and I think we put our money on the right horse!’ - added Joanna Paszyńska.
The leader of the Bawaria Motors Driving Tour before the final competition in Krakow is Aleksander Fularczyk - 36 points. With 33 points, Rafał Paszyński is second and Bartosz Klupś is third with 25 points.
Apart Dressage Tour
Here, Paris Olympian and Lithuanian representative Justina Vanagaite-Samuile from Lithuania, riding Fedon, was unbeatable in both classes.
‘I have a young horse, who doesn’t have much experience in such arenas, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to prepare him for the future. I’m super proud of him. I was really curious how he would feel here and I need to say that he did a pretty good job.’ – said the winner.
The leader of the Apart Dressage Tour is Germany's Lena Hassmann with 33 points. Lying in second place is Agnieszka Wiśniewska with 27 points, and in joint third place - Justina Vanagaite-Samuile and Sandra Sysojeva with 24 points.
CAVALIADA Future
The youngest riding adepts and their ponies competed in the CAVALIADA Future competitions, for the prize of PKO Bank Polski and under the patronage of Torpol. On Saturday, the MINI category was triumphed by Ignacy Luboński atop, while the MIDI category ended with a win for Oliwia Leboda riding Clogheen Too Hot.
Sunday's MINI class was won by Amelia Marszałek from with Holista Lasek, and in the MIDI category the best one was Laura on the pony Finisz.
The leader of the MINI category ranking is Ignacy Luboński (33 points), ahead of his sister Helena Lubońska (31 points) and Paulina Stawiarska (30 points). Leading the MIDI table is Maja Głoskowska (36 points). Second place is occupied by Oliwia Leboda (31) and third place by Jan Mordzelewski (25).
Respect Energy Open Tour
In the final competition of this round, in the Silver category, the winner Hanna Kosińska riding Stormer van het Bevrijdthof was unbeatable. In the Gold category, victory belonged to Nela Dampc riding Dior V.
In the ranking of the Respect Energy Open Tour in the Silver category, the leader is Hanna Kosinska, who has 60 points to her account. Second place belongs to by Hanna Zadroga with 49 points and third place to Zuzanna Michalska – 43 points.
In the Gold category table, Aleksandra Lewicka is in the lead with 45 points. Just behind her is Karmela Wolniewicz with 43 points, and Marianna Stawicka tops off the podium with 40 points.

The CAVALIADA Tour will now move on to the Tauron Arena in Kraków on 20-23 February 2025 - it is there that the winners of the entire competition season will be determined in a fierce battle. The CAVALIADA Krakow is also the final of the FEI Jumping World Cup Central European League, where the best riders will compete for promotion to this year's World Cup Final in Basel.
