Łódź becomes the equestrian centre of Poland – time for the third stage of Perlage CAVALIADA Tour

From January 29^th to February 1^st, Atlas Arena in Łódź will host elite equestrian competition. Athletes from 15 countries with 250 horses will compete across four equestrian disciplines: show jumping, driving, dressage and eventing. The sporting program will be complemented by special competitions, exciting shows, and a fair of equestrian equipment and accessories.

“The Perlage CAVALIADA Tour takes place in the largest sports and event arenas in Poland, and this event simply had to come to Atlas Arena, which today is one of the country’s biggest venues – not only in terms of seating capacity, but also its outstanding logistical possibilities. This is a fantastic city and region, located in the very heart of Poland. We want to be close to the fans and reach as many of them as possible – that is why we chose Łódź and the Łódź region. Preparations are going according to plan, and we are almost ready to welcome our guests tomorrow from 8 a.m. Admission to the stands is ticketed, but for the first time we have prepared a free trade fair zone and a Hobby Horse arena, open to everyone. For several years I had the pleasure of serving as Vice-Mayor of Łódź, responsible for sport, and together with the current Chairman of Atlas Arena, when he took office, we dreamed of bringing CAVALIADA here. Tomorrow, that dream will come true and it is a huge success for everyone involved in this process. Riders from our region will have the opportunity to compete in front of their home crowd, many of whom will see this spectacular event live in Łódź for the first time. “The Łódź region is the birthplace of many top-level equestrians – Olympians, national team members and participants of the most important international events. International competitions have been held here before, but an event of this scale has never taken place in Łódź. Multi-discipline international competitions, with show jumping at the core – at CSI3* level, with a prize pool of €150,000, including three world ranking classes, two of which count towards the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour, now at its halfway point. Polish riders currently lead the Tour rankings – Maksymilian Wechta and Marek Lewicki – but they will not have it easy, as they will have to face strong competition from a long list of international equestrian stars. Alongside the classic classes, there will also be crowd favourites: Speed & Music on Friday evening and the Six Bars on Saturday. CAVALIADA has long promoted equestrian sport from every angle – including the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour (indoor cross-country), featuring Olympic champion Michael Jung, the Apart Dressage Tour, led by Paris Olympian Justina Vanagaite-Samuile from Lithuania, and the CAVALIADA Driving Tour. On Saturday and Sunday, the youngest riders will compete in Perlage CAVALIADA Future on ponies.” – said Szymon Tarant, Sports Director of the Perlage CAVALIADA Tour.
