Swedish victory, Poles on the podium

On the first course, we saw as many as 20 clear rounds. It might seem like a lot, but on the other hand it was a competition full of surprises. The course was not that high as for a three-star show (145 cm), but it had a lot of technical questions. Some of the favourites riding their best horses made mistakes and they missed out on the final rivalry. The jump-off itself was very interesting, the new route offered opportunities to gallop and make tight turns. Thanks to that, the audience of the Warsaw Torwar witnessed a great sporting spectacle. In the end, the winner was Sweden’s Karin Martinsen with PB PORTOFINO, who we had already met from her good side at the 4Foulee competition in Poznań, when she finished third in the Grand Prix.

- I was a bit nervous because a lot of riders got into the jump-off and then you know it's going to be very, very fast. Luckily my horse, Portofino is very fast by nature and fights for me until the very end. I knew we had a good chance today and I just had to get a smooth round. I have been riding this horse for three years. He is very brave and amazing and I am really happy to have the opportunity to compete him. The atmosphere at CAVALIADA is very nice. I've already been to Poznań, but this is my first time in Warsaw. I am very happy to be here," said the winner, Karin Martinsen.

She was closely followed by experienced Poles - Jarosław Skrzyczyński with KOMBOY and Adam Grzegorzewski with FANFRELUCHE DE RIALFO Z. It is worth mentioning that both of them were riding 8-year-old horses that are still gaining experience this level. Young Polish athletes also had a very successful day - fifth place went to Michalina Szmytka with COMET 235, while the runners-up were also: the bronze medalist of the Polish Championships in the young riders' category, Lena Maruszak with JETOULON VAN DE RIETVENNE and a debutant in this type of show, who received a wild card from the organising committee, Zuzanna Golicka riding FOR FLIX.

Two interesting classes are still ahead of us today: the second stage, much more difficult than yesterday, of TRAF EVENTING TOUR, or indoor cross-country, and then in the evening at 9:00 PM - the SPEED & MUSIC, with some very experienced and very fast competitors on the starting list.
