“An indescribable feeling” – Kiecoń wins the Medium Round Final

The Medium Tour Final at Perlage CAVALIADA Tour in Warsaw, a class counting for the world ranking, ended with victory for home rider Mściwoj Kiecoń.

A total of 47 pairs competed in the Medium Tour Final, for the prize of BOŚ Bank, under the patronage of Baborówko Equestrian Association. It was a Longines Ranking winning round competition, and this meant that the top twelve riders from the first round advanced to the decisive barrage, where any faults from the initial course were reset, starting a completely new battle for victory.

Starting as third to go in the final round, Mściwoj Kiecoń, riding the 15-year-old mare Idealisca, had a pole in the initial course, but that did not crush his morale. He delivered a faultless and fast performance, setting the bar extremely high — and no one who followed managed to beat his result.

“I feel incredible, it’s an indescribable feeling. It’s been some time since I last won a world-ranking class, so I’m even happier that I managed to do it riding Idealisca,” – said Mściwoj Kiecoń – “I love competing in arenas where the audience cheers us on — it gives us extra motivation and we want to ride our best. Yesterday I was also in the jump-off but I had one down, which left me a bit unsatisfied — but today, everything worked out perfectly!”

Second place went to Matas Petraitis, the Lithuanian champion, riding Cornet’s Cloud, while Germany’s Harm Lahde finished third with Can Hope.

An outstanding achievement also belonged to 18-year-old home rider Milena Sołtysiak, who, after a clear in the winning round with Nasha VD Donkhoeve Z, finished in an excellent fifth place — the biggest success of her career so far.

Saturday at Perlage CAVALIADA Tour also featured the first competitions of the youngest adepts of the equestrian art – Perlage CAVALIADA Future. In the Mini category, today’s winner was Nell Klupś riding Pasjonata Parys. Kacper Seroczyński took second place with Flora PK, and Otylia Reimann finished third with Pasjonata Amigo. “This is not my first time at Cavaliada — I was already in Warsaw a few years ago, and I love this show” – said the winner. – “He’s a very big horse — I joke that he’s a dinosaur — so he’s not the easiest to ride, but he did great.
