Big Tour win for Germany’s Von Essen, Lewicki Second

The first day of Perlage CAVALIADA Tour in Warsaw is already behind us. In the first Big Tour class, victory went to Germany’s Katharina von Essen. The best home competitor was Marek Lewicki. Justina Vanagaite-Samuile took the lead in Apart Dressage Tour, and Michael Jung triumphed in the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour.

The opening Big Tour class of the new Perlage CAVALIADA Tour season, for the prize of Grupa MTP, saw 67 horse-and-rider combinations on the start list. With 14 efforts on a course at the height of 140 cm, the best performance belonged to Germany’s Katharina von Essen riding 14-year-old mare C–Loona NRW. Showing excellent form, Marek Lewicki took second place with Quadis II and also finished sixth riding Quaid Cassio. Completing the top three was another German rider, Felix Hassmann on Mon Genuartt. Among the Poles, Damian Ostręga placed fifth on Hannibal, securing a spot in the Top Ten.

Thursday also marked the first day of the Eventing riders’ competition as part of the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour. Ten pairs competed on the first course, and the top six qualified for the winning round. The reigning Olympic champion, Germany's Michael Jung, proved unbeatable with FischerSolution, a horse bred at the Polish stud farm Nad Wigrami.

„It’s my first time in Warsaw, but I’ve been to previous CAVALIADA shows, so I know that this is a great place to compete!” – said Michael Jung – „the cross-country was super fun. FischerSolution is now an experienced horse, he’s very lovely to ride and everything felt very easy with him. It’s also a great feeling when you enter the arena and there’s a lot of people cheering on you, the atmosphere is amazing, and it’s a lot of fun to be here.”

Second place went to another German representative, the 2022 European Junior Champion Mathies Rüder with Poynstown Porsch, and third place belonged to Joanna Pawlak riding Petit Fusil.

In the Medium Tour, for the prize of ToBilet.pl, victory went to Patryk Skrzyczyński with Jerico. Second place went to Conan Wright from Ireland riding Litmanen, while third went to Łukasz Brzóska with Jernilla.

In the Gold category of Respect Energy Open Tour, for the prize of Respect Energy and under the patronage of IdeaExpo, the winner was Julia Tybulczuk riding Son Contender. Ignacy Luboński with Mariposa was second, and Julia Banasik with Hera De Lux finished third.

Hubert Prasek, riding Bueno L, won the Silver category class of the Respect Energy Open Tour, for the prize of Respect Energy, under the patronage of Nowy Adres. Julia Balawender with Wilson MK took second, and Oliwia Kwiecińska with Jackpot – third.

The Gold category class of Respect Energy Open Tour, for the prize of Respect Energy, under the patronage of Grupa MTP, ended with victory for Tereza Binarova from the Czech Republic aboard Pericles Optimus. Paulina Zubrzycka took second with Randix van de Hunters, and Karmela Wolniewicz was third with Canossa.

In the first stage of the Apart Dressage Tour, for the prize of Apart, under the patronage of the In_Spire Foundation, the highest marks went to Justina Vanagaite-Samuile of Lithuania, an Olympic rider from Paris, who scored 68.026% riding Fedon. Right behind her was her compatriot Viktorija Kundrotaite riding Kyandro FVE, with 67.456%, while Poland’s Ilona Janas finished third aboard Heracles with 66.842%.
