Great Equestrian Festival to take place in Kraków for the second time

12 February 2020

Last year’s debut of CAVALIADA in Kraków turned out to be very successful. The new stage of the Cavaliada Tour in the former Polish capital attracted both great competitors and an audience of over 10,000 people. CAVALIADA Tour is a series of international equestrian competitions, which take place in Poznań, Lublin, Kraków and Warsaw. Now is the time for the third stage of these competitions, which will take place 20-23 February 2020 in the TAURON Arena Kraków.

The agenda includes top-level equestrian sports, and lots of entertainment at the same time. There will be a lot of exciting shows, which will exceptionally take place both on Saturday and Sunday in Kraków. CAVALIADA is a unique chance to meet the fans and riders of show jumping, dressage, driving and eventing, all in the same place and time.

“The first edition of CAVALIADA Kraków was very well received by competitors, fans, sponsors and exhibitors. Thanks to that, expectations towards this year’s event have significantly increased. CAVALIADA is the biggest equestrian event in Poland, which is famous for its excellent audience. Every year we fill the stands in Poznań, Lublin and Warsaw by selling out tickets before the event starts. Our dream is now to fill the stands of TAURON Arena Kraków, the largest sports and entertainment hall in Poland. We would like to break the record of audience attendance at equestrian events this year, which is why we warmly encourage everyone to come to Kraków on Saturday, February 22. Everybody will receive a small souvenir,” says CAVALIADA Tour Director, Radosław Kulupa.

The second edition of CAVALIADA Kraków means increased sporting status of the jumping competitions. The Sunday’s Grand Prix will be classified in the world ranking, CAVALIADA Tour, as well as in the World Cup qualifiers. It will thus be the second-to-last stage of the Central European League. Traditionally, the final one, will take place at CAVALIADA Warsaw in March. The most important jumping competitions are: Thursday’s Venus vs. Mars, Friday’s Big Round and Puissance, Saturday’s Speed & Music and the Medium Round final, and most importantly Sunday’s Grand Prix for the award of the President of the Management Board of PKO Bank Polski, under the patronage of the President of Kraków. As a reminder, the first Grand Prix in Kraków last year saw the victory of Wojciech Wojcianiec with the horse Cassio Melloni.

“The parkour at the TAURON Arena is a sensational and definitely the best one of all CAVALIADA Tour locations. Plenty of space makes the horses feel very good here. All the riders were really impressed and the atmosphere makes everyone want to come back here,” says ranking leader of the Polish Equestrian Association, Wojciech Wojcianiec, who will come to Kraków to fight for victory again. The CAVALIADA Tour ranking is led by Seweryn Murdzia, who won the Friday’s world ranking competition in Lublin, and came third in the Grand Prix.

Other horse-riding competition specialists will certainly do their best to provide all fans with sporting excitement. Starting as the leader, Daria Kobiernik with Ideal Girl will take part in the LOTTO Eventing Tour (Friday evening). “There is a unique audience and atmosphere at each Cavaliada stage, but it is Kraków that is really impressive. I made my third start in the last Tour and together with Ideal Girl we managed to win the Eventing competition. It was a great experience,” emphasises Kobiernik. The competition will certainly be fierce, as the winner of the 2nd stage from Lublin, Paweł Warszawski and the mare Hatteria II, is just behind her. The Polish Indoor Cup Driving is dominated by Piotr Mazurek, who is 13 points ahead of his competition. Just like Mazurek reigns in driving, the undisputed queen of this season’s CAVALIADA dressage is Lithuanian Sandra Sysojeva. She won two competitions in Lublin and with a set of four wins she is in the lead. Two CAVALIADA Tour Dressage competitions will take place on Friday and Sunday. As for CAVALIADA Future, Natalia Głowacz (mini) and Luna Kowalonek (midi) are in the lead after the competitions in Lublin. The competitions for children on ponies will take place on Saturday and Sunday. CAVALIADA Kraków is partnered by the Małopolskie Voivodeship. The Host City of Kraków invites you to the event.
