Olympic eventing champion Michael Jung triumphed once again in the CAVALIADA Eventing Tour competition during Perlage CAVALIADA Tour in Warsaw. Right behind him was Poland’s Joanna Pawlak. The Speed&Music competition ended with a win for Mathies Rüder from Germany.

Ten horse-and-rider combinations took part in the second stage of CAVALIADA Eventing Tour, for the prize of RAITECH, under the patronage of the Polish Equestrian Federation, and as always, the top six advanced to the second round. In the decisive jump-off, the Olympic champion from Paris – Germany’s Michael Jung – once again outcalssed his rivals riding FischerSolution II, a horse bred at Polish Nad Wigrami Stud Farm. Not far behind him was last year’s Polish Champion Joanna Pawlak, riding 9-year-old Petit Fusil, while Paweł Warszawski took third place on the debuting Forgo Tower.

“I’m here with a less experienced horse who made his debut at CAVALIADA this year in Sopot, in the previous Tour. We made some mistakes then, but during the outdoor season we managed to compete internationally up to the 2* level. He’s really opened up, winning many competitions, and I’m very proud of him. Both yesterday and today he jumped great – it was his first time in a jump-off, and he showed that he’s a very fast horse,” said Joanna Pawlak. “He’s a really nice type of horse for eventing – he’s strong in every discipline. He scores highly in dressage because of his looks and movement, he’s well-behaved, jumps beautifully, and doesn’t like touching the poles. We introduced him to cross-country gradually, and he’s fallen in love with it – it’s a joy to galop out of the start box with him; he wants to jump and isn’t afraid of anything. Nothing in the CAVALIADA arena fazed him.”

A permanent fixture in the Cavaliada program – the fast-paced and dynamic Speed&Music competition, with the City of Warsaw as the prize sponsor and Radio ESKA as the musical patron – attracted 24 pairs at the starting list, with the pair from Germany – Mathies Rüder and the mare Flora V – galloping fastest to the rhythm of the music. Second place went to Laura Penele from Latvia with Dundas V.D.M., and third to Michael Jung riding gelding Qwatt.

In the Silver Round, part of Respect Energy Open Tour, for the prize of COS Torwar, the best performance came from Paulina Zubrzycka riding Randix van de Hunters. Julia Balawender took second place with Wilson MK, and Izabela Bandura with Goos finished third.
